  • Light Bulbs
    • CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lights) are a great way to reduce the electric bill.  One issue is that they contain small amounts of mercury and cannot be thrown away in the trash.  If you’ve got the curly ones that fit in standard light sockets, wrapin paper or plastic bag and take to nearby Best Buy, Home Depot, Ikea, Lowes, Whole Foods or the City’s next Household Hazardous Waste event.
    • The long tubes & circle fluorescent bulbs can be taken to the City’s next Household Hazardous Waste event or that you order a prepaid container and ship to a recycler such as Waste Management’s Lamp Tracker program.
    • Incandescent bulbs can be taken to the nearby Home Depot.
